Project overview
CS-15 Safety Solutions Ltd was commissioned to provide specialist stunt medical cover and rescue planning for a high-risk stunt sequence filmed at the White Cliffs of Dover.
The stunt required a performer to be pushed from a cliff edge as part of a controlled cinematic sequence. The hazardous terrain, height exposure and environmental conditions demanded detailed multi-agency style coordination and emergency contingency planning.
The challenge
- Cliff-edge working with extreme fall hazards
- Complex rope rigging operations
- Limited access routes for emergency vehicles
- Rapid casualty extraction considerations
- Coastal and maritime environmental risks
- Immediate medical intervention needed in remote terrain
What we delivered
We worked alongside the rope rigging and stunt teams to coordinate safe procedures throughout the sequence, and wrote a detailed rope rescue and casualty recovery plan with communication protocols, designated rescue zones and contingencies for cliffside retrieval.
Medical and rescue teams maintained continuous oversight during rehearsals and the live stunt.
Results
- All stunt activities were completed safely and according to plan
- Rope rescue contingencies were fully established and operational
- Medical teams maintained immediate response readiness throughout
- No injuries, incidents or welfare concerns occurred
- The coordinated land and maritime rescue operation functioned seamlessly
Outcome
Careful planning, collaboration with the stunt department and rope access specialists, and deployment of specialist rescue assets ensured a complex stunt was delivered safely, without disruption to production.
