Overview
Over four consecutive years, our medical team delivered scalable, clinically effective event medical cover at Feasty Fest while attendance grew from approximately 4,500 to well over 12,000.
How the operation scaled
As the festival expanded, provision evolved from a small central treatment unit with roaming first aid teams into a comprehensive multi-team operation featuring:
- Central medical facilities
- Rapid response teams
- Dedicated welfare provision
- On-site ambulance capability
- Senior clinical oversight and coordinated event control integration
Clinical outcomes
Despite significant growth in crowd numbers, casualty presentation rates were consistently kept below 3%, with the vast majority of patients assessed, treated and safely discharged on site. Common presentations included minor injuries, intoxication, heat-related illness and low-acuity medical concerns, all managed through structured triage and responsive deployment.
Multi-agency coordination
We maintained strong coordination with local ambulance services and receiving hospitals throughout all four years. Patients requiring escalation received rapid assessment, stabilisation and direct conveyance to hospital via pre-planned emergency access routes.
Outcome
The sustained success of the operation demonstrated effective clinical governance, scalable planning, strong multi-agency communication and consistently high standards of patient care through a period of substantial festival growth.
